Choosing a house plan is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make, and most of the places you'll look are catalogs: thousands of plans, and no one telling you how they actually live.
What we do
LAND & PLAN reads plans closely. We compare them across sellers, show how a house works from the garage door to the back porch, name the trade-offs, and say what to check before you buy. We organize everything around what really decides a home: the land you have, the way you live, and the constraints you're working with.
Independent
We're an independent publication. We don't design, sell or build houses. If you buy a plan through an affiliate link on our pages, we may earn a commission. That never decides which plans we include or how we describe them. Every spec comes from the seller and is checked by a person before it's published. No plans are published yet, and we have no affiliate links or seller partnerships today.
The name
Land is everything around the house that the house cannot change: the lot, its width, its slope, the view, the access, the setbacks. Plan is everything the house decides: the rooms, the footprint, the paths through it. The & is where they meet. The right plan is the one that fits.
A plan is a drawing. A home is where you'll live for years. We help you get from one to the other.
